EuroMedITI and ASTF sign a Memorandum of Understanding18/12/2008
On December 15th at the Valletta Forum 2008 in front of the Prime Minister of Malta Dr. Lawrence Gonzi, Amb. Gamal Bayoumi Secretary General of the Arab Investors Union, EU Commissioner Joe Borg and other assembled dignitaries, Dr. John Attard CEO of EuroMedITI and Dr. Abdalla Alnajjar President of the Arab Science & Technology Foundation formally signed a memorandum of understanding between the two parties.
The focus of the MoU is on the joint encouragement, development, facilitation and promotion of: adaptation projects in selected fields of science and technology of strategic relevance to the regions represented by the parties; the development and mobilization of human resources in support of such projects; the conducting of studies and organization of expert meetings, workshops and symposia; promoting cooperation between, and the set-up of, specialised networks incorporating European and Arab organisations; promoting investment in science and technology.
The technology sectors of interest include, but are not limited to: the environment; renewable energy; and ICT. « Go to news archive |
